Our Achievements

Langley Memorial Hospital donation

The Fraser Valley Italian Canadian Society is always been a great supporter of the community. Thanks to our directors Angelo and Lily DiPlacito the need of support for the Memorial Hospital was brought up and all the directors got involved in doing something for this very important cause.

We started with donating the proceeds of our 50/50 from now onward to the Langley Memorial Hospital Pediatric Unit toward the purchase of necessary specialized medical equipment.

In order to achieve this goal the directors have committed and agreed to donate to the Langley Memorial Hospital $10,000.00 over the next 3 years.

Toni Andreola from the Langley Memorial Hospital received our
first cheque of $3,000.00 at the banquet of our 45th anniversary and we were really blessed when one of our guests, Roy Wiltshire, matched our donation with another $3,000.00!

Roof on the Bocce Court

Another important achievement for our club is the completion of the roof on the Bocce court.

Vital part of the activities of our club and iconic sport that represents and celebrates our culture, Bocce has a very special place in our hearts. As official BC Senior Tournament location it was very important for us to have a roof on our court to make the game always happen even when the usual rain and the occasional snow would show up. Therefore thanks to the investment the Township of Langley generously gave us we were able to achieve another goal.

The roof inauguration will be announced soon so to have another perfect occasion to celebrate!
